History of the Community

It all began In 1985 with the meeting of two young women : Mother Line (now Prioress of the community) and Sister Veronica, a young woman affected by Down’s syndrome, who is now a nun.

Sister Veronica had already received her religious vocation and had knocked at the doors of several religious communities but always received a refusal. Through her experience, Mother Line fully understood that these communities had neither the infrastructure, nor a way of life adapted to the handicap of the women affected by Down’s syndrome .

Mother Line perceived a true vocation in the young Veronica.

They set up with very few means in a small house in a little village in the Touraine region.

Mother Line was persuaded that such a vocation would surely attract others. And her hopes were not in vain.

The community grew gradually. In 1995, the Littles Sisters Disciples of the Lamb moved to Le Blanc, in the Indre region.
